Two new members were recently appointed to the Floral Park Library Board of Trustees by Mayor Thomas Tweedy: Mary Bambrick and Douglas Monaghan.

Ms. Bambrick has been a resident of Floral Park for almost 20 years.  She and her husband Gerry share a law practice and have four children, ranging from a first-grader to college students.  She hopes to bring her perspective on how technology has transformed education and her interest in children's services to the Board.  Ms. Bambrick fills the vacancy left when Trustee Faith Greulich completed her five-year commitment.

A resident of Floral Park since 1978, Douglas Monaghan recently retired as Assistant Superintendent for Personnel and Administration for the Sewanhaka Central High School District.  He has served in a variety of education-related positions throughout the years, including teaching, coaching, and administrative positions at St. Kevin's in Flushing, St. Mary's in Manhasset, New Hyde Park Memorial High School, and H. Frank Carey High School.  Mr. Monaghan and his wife of 38 years, Lorraine, have two daughters, Sara and Kate.   Mr. Monaghan is completing Trustee Gerald Hanson's term.

The Library Board and the Library welcome them both.
